Weather Decisions From VA Public School Systems For Dec. 13
Several school systems in Virginia have made decisions on whether to open, delay or close schools. Here's a look at the list of schools.
VIRGNIA ā The potential for icy conditions on the roads for the morning commute has several school systems starting late or closing on Friday, Dec. 13. Patchy light freezing rain is possible in the western and southern Virginia suburbs. A glaze of ice is possible mainly on any untreated roads, bridges, overpasses, or other elevated surfaces.
These school systems made changes to their schedules because of the weather:
Loudoun County public schools are closed Friday, Dec. 13, with administrative offices opening at 10 a.m. All evening activities on school campuses are canceled.

Prince William County public schools will open on a two-hour delay Friday, Dec. 13. School-age child care will also open two hours late and all field trips are canceled. Athletic trips will be decided by appropriate personnel on an individual basis depending on road conditions.
Spotsylvania County public schools are on a two-hour delay, Friday, Dec. 13.

Stafford County public schools will open two hours late on Friday, Dec. 13. There are no morning preschool classes. There is a one hour delay for afternoon preschool classes.
Fauquier County public schools will be closed. This is a change from an earlier two-hour delay.
Warren County public schools will be closed. This is a change from an earlier two-hour delay.
Most local school systems use mass notification messaging systems to personally communicate with parents about weather-related cancellations and delays. Students, parents and teachers can also stay up to date on school closings via social media.
