What's Open, Closed On New Year's Day 2022 In Leesburg

LEESBURG, VA — While New Year's Day is often a day to recover from the previous night's festivities, if you do plan to head out, it's good to know how the holiday may affect the availability of services in Leesburg.

New Year's Day and New Year's Eve are two of the holidays that usually affect the hours of government offices, libraries, public transportation, garbage pickup and other services in Leesburg.

To help you plan, here's a roundup of what's open and what's closed on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in our area:

• Loudoun County government offices: Closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1.
• Town of Leesburg government offices: Closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1.
• Loudoun County courts: Courts will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1.
• Loudoun County libraries: Close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31. Closed on Saturday, Jan. 1.
• Loudoun County transit: Buses will not run on Saturday, Jan. 1.
• Leesburg Trash Collection: The town's trash collection will not be affected by the holiday.
• Post offices: Some locations may have limited hours on Dec. 31. Check with your local post office. All post offices are closed on Jan. 1.
