LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Propaganda flyers advocating for white supremacy were found in driveways in Hamilton, Waterford, and Purcellville on Thursday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Residents found the flyers on Hamilton Station Road in Hamilton, Waterford Creek Circle in Waterford, and Sagle Road in Purcellville. Authorities do not believe the people distributing the flyers targeted any particular homes.

Deputies found about 50 propaganda flyers on Thursday. Each flyer was sealed in a plastic bag and weighed down using bird seed, the sheriff's office said. Authorities did not provide any detailed information about the content of the flyers.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned the flyers on Friday.

"All Virginians must take a stand against the promotion of white supremacy and all other forms of bigotry that we are witnessing almost every day at the local and national levels," CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said in a news release. “Bigots succeed only when good people remain silent."

In June 2021, the sheriff's office reported similar incidents in June 2021. In Ashburn and Leesburg, residents woke up one morning to find KKK propaganda flyers in their driveways. At that time, the flyers referenced discussions at the Loudoun County School Board and claimed to be from "Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan."
