Winter Storm Watch in Leesburg Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch from Wednesday morning through Wednesday afternoon for areas that include Leesburg.

Snow accumulations of five inches or more are expected, with wind gusts up to 20 mph, according to the NWS statement.

Roads may become snow covered and slippery, including area interstates, causing significant impacts on holiday travel plans.

“Heavy amounts of wet snow may cause downed trees that lead to an enhanced threat for power outages,” the NWS warns.
