Woman Dies At Hospital After Getting Hit On Algonkian Parkway
The driver called 911 shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday morning and remained at the scene in Loudoun County.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is investigating a death on Algonkian Parkway after a driver reported he was traveling westbound on the parkway near Westmoreland Drive when he was unable to stop his car in time and struck a person. The driver called 911 shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday morning and remained at the scene.
The victim, an adult female, was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family. The accident occurred in the Countryside area of Loudoun County, about six miles east of Leesburg.
The LCSO, which has yet to determine why the woman was in the roadway, said the case is still under investigation. Anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact Investigator M. Lotz at 703-777-1021.
