Tour Crow's Nest Natural Area May 11

A free tour of Crow's Nest Natural Area Preserve in Stafford County is scheduled May 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The tour is open to all ages. Participants should wear casual clothes and comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk up to four miles. Registration is required. Call 804-786-7951 to register (directions to the preserve will be provided during registration).

Crow's Nest is a scenic peninsula between Accokeek and Potomac creeks. The property contains mature hardwood forest and some of the most intact wetlands on the East Coast. Crow's Nest is home to bald eagles, short-nosed sturgeon and several important plant species.

The preserve is co-owned by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation and Stafford County.
