Learning to Trust Feels Like Jumping Without a Parachute
Workhouse Artist Promotes Artful Living, Creatively Caring for Our Community Openly speaking about art, family, and everything else in between.
I've been avoiding this blog as if it were grim death. My thoughts have been trapped in a sort of metaphysical cage match. I probably sound a wee bit dramatic, but that is who I am. Take it or leave it, words are the most challenging material I labor with in my art making.
Utterances that are put onto paper instantly become permanent marks. Oh sure I can edit any inaccuracies that are brought to my attention after publication, but by then the world has already peered into the recesses of my provincial mind aka the big show and I feel like an ass. As a preventative measure I usually have the stage is roped off and employ 12 huge, knuckle dragging apes to keep any unruly agents from getting in or out of this highly secured area until today.

I got a phone call. It was James Cullum, editor of the Lorton Patch, his was song so sublime that the beasts took down the ropes and agreed to public tours. (I just threw up a little in my mouth & I'm not even kidding!) He believes his audience, the local community, would be very interested in hearing about my creative process, studio work at the Workhouse Arts Center, upcoming exhibitions, workshops et al. I've worked with James on many occasions and value his opinion.
I trust that he has his pulse on this community and share his commitment to it.
