Lorton Rainfall June 18 - 24. It's Lightning Safety Week!

Sunday was the first day of the National Weather Service’s 12th Lightning Safety Awareness Week, June 24-30, 2012. Since the campaign began, the average number of lightning deaths in the U.S. has decreased from 73 to 54. That’s great progress, but lightning continues to be one of the top three storm-related killers in the United States. Learn how to be a force of nature this week at www.lightningsafety.noaa.gov

Here in Lorton, it was another fairly dry week.  Less than a tenth of an inch of rain fell - where we normally receive ¾”.
