Fairfax County Annual Earth Day/ Arbor Day Celebration

Saturday April 16, 2011 (please note date change!)
Earth Day/Arbor Day!

Document Shredding 8-12pm (in the FASTRAN lot)

Community Clean up 9 am-11 am (meet at North Side of Government Center! Wear boots or hard soled shoes and bring gloves!)

Urban Forestry workshops 9 am-11 am–

9:00 – 10:00am and 10:00 – 11:00amTree Walk- Take a tour of the Fairfax County Government grounds and discuss the following topics:Tree identification,  Importance of proper tree selection for landscaping,  Environmental benefits trees provide9:00 – 10:00 amTree Pruning Demonstration- Learn how to improve the health of your tree and avoid structural problems.10:00 – 11:00 amTree Seedling Planting Demonstration- Learn the best techniques for planting a tree seedling and how to make sure it will thrive in your yard.All workshops are FREE. Secure Document Shredding will run from 8 am-12 pm

Community Clean Up will still happen in the rain! Wear a rain jacket and prepare to get wet! 9 am-11 am
