Gunston Elementary School Service Unit Thinking Day Celebration

Thinking Day is one of the many special days in Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding.  It is a day of international thinking.  February 22nd is the joint birthdays of Lord and Lady Bayden Powell the founders of Girl Guiding and Boy Scouting.  They were close friends of Juliette Gordon Low (founder of Girl Scouting in America)  Thus Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all across the world celebrate Thinking day with a variety of events that usually involve troops selecting a country to learn about it and sharing their new found knowledge with fellow Scouts at a Thinking Day festival.  There the girls will share, dances, games, food and much more.  This years theme is empowering women.
