Gunston Hall's Seeds of Independence

The 6th annual Seeds of Independence program will combine a genealogical search with oral histories. The program will feature a FILM PREMIERE:

"A 200-Year Journey: Mattawoman Plantation to Mason Neck The Descendants of George Gant, The Ancestors of Gladys Cook Bushrod”  Told by Gladys Cook Bushrod, Her Children & Grandchildren, August 4, 2012

Gunston Hall Historian Terry Dunn will give a talk on "Surveying the Surviving Documents: Identifying George Mason's Slave Families"

Tours of the mansion and a biscuit and jam reception are also included.
