The next orchestra concert will be held on Thursday, March 3rd, at 7 p.m. in the SCSS auditorium. Rehearsal for this concert will be on Wednesday, March 2nd, from 2:15-4 p.m. This will be an excellent concert as the various orchestras will be playing musical pieces they have selected to perform in the Performance Assessment competition, previously known as Festival.
It has been our custom at this concert to forego a reception, and instead take up a collection of currently needed items for the Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC). This year, they have asked us to do a “cereal drive” for them. Anything from oatmeal, to breakfast bars, to different kinds of cereal, i.e. Cheerios, Wheaties, Raisin Bran, etc. would be welcome. So when you come to hear your musician play on March 3rd, please remember to bring a breakfast item to be donated to the LCAC.
