Fairfax County Police Release Sketch of Sex Assault Suspect
Police seek public's help in attack that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday in Herndon

Fairfax County Police today released a sketch of a suspect in a sexual assault that occurred about 5:30 a.m. Saturday at an apartment in the 13700 block of Merrybrook Court in Herndon. Police said in a news release that they plan to canvass the area beginning at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
A police investigation determined the victim, a 23-year-old woman, awoke to find a man in her bedroom. The suspect displayed a weapon and sexually assaulted the victim then fled from the home. The victim did not require medical treatment.
The suspect is described as a man, unknown race, with a light complexion. He is 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a large build. He was wearing a black tank top, khaki cargo shorts and a light-colored cloth wrapped around his head that covered his face. It appears the suspect forced entry through a locked door. Other family members were home but were not injured. This investigation is ongoing.
