Fireworks at the Workhouse Light Up the Sky…and Our Patriotic Side

4 ways to continue the holiday weekend at the Workhouse!

Independence Day is fast-approaching, and what better way to enjoy the holiday then with music, art, and (of course) a colorful fireworks show? In honor of July 4th, here are 4 ways to celebrate at Fireworks at the Workhouse on July 6th.

  1. Appreciate the atmosphere. At the Workhouse, the outdoor setting of the Quad is perfect for setting up blankets and lawn chairs and relaxing with family and friends this holiday weekend. One of the goals of the Workhouse is to provide the community with a combination of cultural and entertainment experiences, and between live music and the surrounding art galleries, this event encompasses that goal.
  2. Listen to some rockin’ music. The Workhouse will be hosting a Mount Vernon Nights concert July 6 at 7pm, featuring the funky bluegrass style of Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen. The City of Fairfax Band Swing Ensemble will be performing afterwards at 8pm. Complement a warm summer night with live entertainment everyone can enjoy.
  3. Experience a meaningful exhibition. On July 4th, we celebrate the freedom we have in this country, a freedom protected by our military. The Workhouse proudly presents 360 Degrees of Post-Traumatic Stress, an exhibition that combines works from soldiers transitioning at Walter Reed National Medical Center and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
  4. Capture the patriotic spirit of the holiday. Fireworks at the Workhouse is an event that represents what Independence day truly means. From spending time with loved ones to remembering sacrifices made to oohing and ahhing over fireworks, appreciate every aspect of the holiday with the Workhouse!
