July is typically our hottest month of the year, with an average daily high temperature at Dulles Airport of 88 degrees from July 2d through August 5th. The average daily temperature of course is affected by both high temperatures and low temperatures, and although they’re both fairly constant this month and next, by August the low temperature does begin to drop off just a bit, making July just a little bit warmer on average.. On July 9 the low becomes 66 degrees where it stays through July 31st. Remember last year at this time? At this time last year we were suffering through 11 straight days with a high over 95 degrees - on 7/7/2012 it hit 105 degrees at National Airport. My air conditioner has had it pretty easy so far this year, thankfully!
