Police Apprehend Teen in Alleged Lorton Garage Burglary

Police pursued teen, another suspect by car and then by foot Sunday after two drove into the woods. The second suspect got away.

Fairfax County Police apprehended a 15-year-old suspect from Laurel, Md. Sunday afternoon after a car and foot chase in Lorton.

Police were responding to a call at 5:22 p.m. Sunday after a resident in the 8200 block of Red Carnation Court in Lorton reported someone entered the garage and took property. The resident reported that the suspects fled in a Chevrolet Impala.

Responding officers located the suspect vehicle and pursued it to Crosspointe Drive in Lorton. The two suspects drove into the woods and then fled on foot.

A 15-year-old Laurel, Md. juvenile was taken into custody. The second suspect is described as a black juvenile male.

There may have been other burglaries, police said. Residents located in the 8300 block of Periwinkle Place and the 9900 block of Evenstar Lane also reported property taken from open garages and could possibly be related to this case.
