Police Blotter: Unlocked Homes, Stolen Cars and Driving Without a License

Lorton's week in crime.

Here's a look at criminal activity in Lorton from Sept. 6-12, as reported by the Fairfax County Police Department. 

Last week across Fairfax County, there were 28 domestic violence-related charges, 65 illegal drug-related charges and 58 DWI-related charges.

  • A 24-year-old man was robbed on Sept. 6, while sitting in a car in the area of Hagel Circle and Richmond Highway. The victim was "attempting to purchase a cell phone" with another individual when the suspect approached and took the phone and cash, according to police. No one was hurt.
  • A laptop computer was reported stolen from a home in the 7400 block of Lone Star Road on Sept. 6. Entry was made via a rear sliding glass door. 
  • Cash and electronic equipment were reported stolen from a home in the 8100 block of Dove Cottage Court at 5:15 a.m. on Sept. 10. Entry was made via an unlocked front door. 
  • Two backpacks with electronic equipment were reported stolen from the 8300 block of Broughton Craggs Lane at 9:00 a.m on Sept. 10. Entry was made via an unlocked front door. 
  • A Nissan Altima was stolen from the 9200 block of Lewis Chapel Road. 

Arrests (names withheld)

  • A 32-year-old Lorton man living in the 9600 block of Hagel Circle was arrested  on Sept. 6 for driving without a license and falsely identifying himself to police. 
  • An 18-year-old Lorton man living in the 7700 block of Grandwind Drive was arrested on Sept. 7 for driving without a license. 
  • A 23-year-old Lorton man living in the 7700 block of Grandwind Drive was arrested on Sept. 7 for entering a building to commit a larceny. 
  • A 23-year-old Lorton man living in the 8300 block of Accotink Road was arrested on Sept. 7 for driving while intoxicated. 
  • A 27-year-old Lorton man living in the 7800 block of Lewis Chapel Road was arrested on Sept. 8 for driving without a license.
  • A 40-year-old Lorton woman living in the 9100 block of Marie Court was arrested on Sept. 9 for driving without a license.  
  • A 21-year-old Lorton woman living in the 8100 block of McCauley Way was arrested on Sept. 10 for driving without a license. 
  • A 22-year-old Lorton man living in the 7500 block of Devries Drive was arrested on Sept. 11 for reckless handling of a firearm. 
  • An 18-year-old Lorton man living in the 6700 block of Bulkley Road was arrested on Sept. 11 for driving without a license.
