Saturday, October 26, 2013 will mark Volunteer Fairfax’s 19th annual VolunteerFest®. VolunteerFest® is a region-wide day of community service held in conjunction with National Make a Difference Day. VolunteerFest® mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to help nonprofits accomplish tasks that they otherwise would not have the time or resources to do on their own.
Last year on Saturday, October 27, 2012, nearly 800 community and corporate volunteers donated their time and energy for VolunteerFest®. Volunteers spent their Saturday helping nonprofits at 42 different service projects around Northern Virginia. They participated in hands-on projects throughout the community such as landscaping, organizing clothes at thrift shops, helping the homeless and much more.

Volunteers are a vital resource for nonprofit organizations. However, not all nonprofits have access to or are able to manage a volunteer program. VolunteerFest is a unique opportunity for nonprofit organizations in Northern Virginia to accomplish projects that they normally would not be able to complete due to a lack of resources.
Volunteer Fairfax is now accepting project proposals for VolunteerFest® 2013! If you have an idea for a project that would transform your space, your client experience, or your staff's morale, we challenge you to submit it! By partnering with Volunteer Fairfax for VolunteerFest®, you gain access to over a thousand volunteers, including corporate groups, as well as our community wide marketing campaign and volunteer recognition items. VolunteerFest® is an excellent way to introduce new volunteers and supporters to the important work you do every day.
Project submissions will close on September 4 at 5pm.For more information on submitting a project click here!
