School Bus Driver Charged in Alleged Sex Assault of Special Needs Student

Johnnie Miller worked for the county since 1991, was placed on administrative leave after alleged incident in May; he retired May 30.

A Fairfax County Public Schools school bus driver has been arrested and charged for the alleged sexual assault of a special needs student, The Washington Post reported today. The bus driver was responsible for taking students to the Key Center, which is located in Springfield. The charges are assault and battery.

The Post reported that the driver, Johnnie Miller, 66, was seen on a surveillance video on the bus, allegedly touching the 13-year old girl inappropriately. The video was from May 6 and officials then began investigating the incident, according to the Post story.

Miller has worked for FCPS since 1991 and was placed on administrative leave following the alleged incident in May, and he subsequently retired effective May 30, FCPS spokesman John Torre told Patch.

Torre told Patch he did not know what other routes/buses Miller has driven. Miller is reportedly a resident of Fredericksburg.
