Sobriety Checkpoint Yields DWIs Saturday in Franconia Police District
In all 799 passed through and five drivers were charged with DWI.

A sobriety checkpoint set up Saturday night yielded five DWIs, according to Fairfax County Police.
The checkpoint took place at Franconia Springfield Parkway/Spring Village Drive, where officers conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Seven-hundred-ninety-nine vehicles passed through. Five drivers were charged with DWI. One summons was issued and three criminal arrests were made.
The Franconia Police District is 51 square miles and it includes Annandale, Springfield, Lorton, Little River Turnpike south to Mason Neck and I-95 east to Telegraph Road. See a map of the district here.
