Soldier's Wife Went Missing at Fort Belvoir for 20 Hours

Woman was found Monday before temperatures dipped; search included more than 100 soldiers, volunteers

The wife of a U.S. Army soldier was missing for 20 hours beginning Sunday at Fort Belvoir this week. She was found at 2 p.m. Monday at Fort Belvoir, according to the Belvoir Eagle.

The 20-hour ordeal included a search by ground, water and air, according to the Eagle.

Emergency personnel from Fort Belvoir, Fairfax County and the U.S. Coast Guard were involved in the search, according to the paper. Bruce Wright, fire chief, 465 Battalion, told the paper Fairfax was not officially involved in the search but drew up maps for searchers. Some 100 soldiers and volunteers took part in the search.
