South County Vendor and Craft Fair A Success
The South County Vendor and Craft Fair was packed with fun and crafts.
The South County Secondary School (SCSS) held its South County Vendor and Craft Fair yesterday in the school's cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Upon walking through the school's doors, visitors were greeted by vendor tables adorned with everything from Christmas ornaments to fine hand-blown glass. The charming array of artistry and crafting proved to be a success for vendors and a treasure to behold for those who attended.
Located on Silverbrook Road in Lorton, the fair brought together a plethora of private and business vendors selling everything you could possibly imagine—pottery, cosmetics and sculptures made by Christians living in Israel. Ramiz Andoni was happy to talk about the sculptures he was selling. "It's [the sculptures] all made in Jerusalem and Bethlehem by Christian families there," said Andoni.
"About 80 percent of the Christian families do depend on Jerusalem to survive," said Andoni. "So we try to bring these here and send all of the proceeds back."

Of course, vendors were not the only ones enjoying themselves. A young couple was winding their way through the hallway, where vendor tables abounded. "We're enjoying touring around and seeing everything," the two said before heading around a curve and disappearing into the main vendor room.
Mattie Couples, a private vendor of Christmas and baby items, found her herself set up at a table outside the school's eatery. She was happy to talk about the items she was selling. At her table, you could find Christmas tree skirts and elaborate Christmas stockings.

"The Christmas tree skirts are just preprinted panels that I've sewn together, bound and turned into a finished product," she said, looking over a beautiful spread of red and green Christmas stockings.
