Springfield Credit Union Robbed

Two Apple Federal Credit Unions in the area have been robbed this month

A woman robbed a Springfield Plaza credit union Friday morning, in the second robbery of an area credit union this month.

A woman entered the Apple Federal Credit Union at 6314 Springfield Plaza around 11 a.m. Friday. After passing the teller a note demanding money, the woman fled with some money. No one was injured during the robbery. 

This is the second robbery of an area Apple Federal Credit Union this month. On July 15, the Apple Federal Credit Union at 6831 Viceroy Drive in Kingstowne .

The suspect in the most recent robbery is described as around 5 feet 5 inches tall, with light skin and a heavy build. She was wearing a light-colored shirt and blue jeans.

In the July 15 robbery, the suspect was described a black woman with a heavy build, around 5 feet 5, and wearing jeans. The Fairfax County Police Department has not yet responded a question about whether the robberies are related.

FCPD has asked anyone with information about the robbery to contact them:
