Teachers from Laurel Hill and Halley Elementary Schools 'Dig' It

Fun time had by all

Yesterday at the South County Secondary School roles were reversed for a couple of hours to the delight of everyone involved. Teachers from Halley and Laurel Hill Elementary schools did battle on the volleyball court while a (slightly) older group of cheerleaders handled the spirit from the sidelines. Meanwhile, the bleachers were filled with an enthusiastic group of elementary school-aged kids cheering them on. The SACC dancers from Laurel Hill and the Bully Knots from Halley also performed while All County Choral students from each school sang the National Anthem and their respective school songs.

All told about 1,300 were in attendance and proceeds from the day benefited the PTO and PTAs of each schools. Halley had approximately 40 teachers on hand, while Laurel had approximately 30.

For the record, the teachers Laurel Hill won two of the three games.*
