The Auburn Speaker Series kicks off on Wednesday
evening, September 18, with a program on Understanding Anxiety in Spectrum Disorder Students
presented by Dr. Sajjad Khan. Come and learn how to recognize symptoms, it's
impact and possible interference with daily function, and counseling
strategies. This free program is open to all families and professionals in the
community.
Dr. Sajjad Khan specializes in Cognitive Behavior
Therapy (CBT) and uses a multitude of techniques, including relaxation
training, to help with stress reduction and issues pertaining to health-related quality of life. Dr. Khan's services for families include treatment plans,
parent training, coordination of behavioral interventions with parents and
teachers, social skills training, and adaptive function coaching. He conducts
group therapy for mood and anxiety disorders for adults, as well as ADHD and
spectrum disorders social skills groups for children and adolescents.
