The Workhouse Arts Center is pleased to welcome the D.C. premier of the acclaimed “Vincent.” Written by Leonard Nimoy and directed by Paul Stein, this exhilarating look into the mind of a misunderstood genius was hailed by the Los Angeles Times for “transcend[ing] the usual clichés surrounding the high-maintenance artist.”

A few days following the death of little known painter, Vincent Van Gogh, rumors are flying in Paris. Some say he was a penniless madman, a frequenter of prostitutes and a soon to be forgotten artist of trifling quality. Others denounce him as a wayward priest and a foreigner. Many whisper that he took his own life in a moment of insanity. His brother, Theo, Vincent’s confidant and lifelong supporter, is enraged. Tonight, he hopes to set the record straight.

Critically acclaimed French-born performer Jean-Michel Richaud, under the steadfast support of Leonard Nimoy brings this production to the Workhouse Arts Center. This production of Vincent has performed to sold-out houses in Los Angeles and San Diego before traveling to New York, and most recently Paris, where audiences and critics embraced the production and was nominated a 2015 Petit Moliere Award for best one-man show.
