Using a heat gun, they also found local playground equipment and ground surfaces reaching 130 to 160 degrees, underscoring how dangerous brief errands or outdoor play can be during extreme heat.
4. $3B Appomattox data center moves forward in face of community opposition (roanoke.com) — A $3 billion data center in Appomattox County is moving ahead under a performance agreement, even as Lynchburg-area communities tighten rules on similar projects.
