1 Dead After Tuesday Morning House Fire In Nokesville

The Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue said one person died in a Nokesville house fire on Tuesday morning.

NOKESVILLE, VA — A person died after a home in Nokesville caught fire on Tuesday morning, according to a report from the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue. No other injuries were reported.

Around 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning, a dispatcher sent fire crews to the home in the 14000 block of Fleetwood Drive. A passerby called to report that they could see flames emitting from the home, authorities said.

When they arrived on the scene, firefighters learned that there was still a person in the home. Crews were able to locate the person inside the structure and pulled them outside, the fire department noted in a report.

The victim, who authorities only identified as an adult, did not survive the blaze. Emergency personnel pronounced them dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.

Fire officials said the scene was still active at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. They have not yet released a cause for the fire or a cause of death for the victim.
