1 Injured After Man Barricades Himself Inside Manassas Home: Police
Police and the barricaded suspect exchanged gunfire after officers were called to the Manassas home on Friday night.

MANASSAS, VA — A man was injured Friday night after they exchanged gunfire with police during a barricade situation at a Manassas home, authorities said.
According to Manassas police, officers were called to a home in the 9200 block of Bayberry Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. after receiving a report of shots fired.
When authorities arrived, police said they attempted to enter the home but someone inside opened fire at the officers. In response, police said officers returned fire.

According to authorities, the person inside the home then barricaded himself inside the residence but surrendered to police shortly after. Police said the man had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, though it was unclear if the wound was from officer gunfire, a self-inflicted gunshot wound, or an injury from a previous incident.
The man was taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.
