15-Year-Old Shot Fellow Teen In Manassas On Sunday: Police
A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Manassas on Sunday after authorities said he shot a 17-year-old on Lane Scott Court.
MANASSAS, VA — A shooting in Manassas left one teen injured on Sunday afternoon, the Manassas City Police Department said.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, suffered a gunshot wound. His injuries were not life-threatening, according to the police report.
The suspected shooter, a 15-year-old boy, was arrested on Sunday. He is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by an underage person, and discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school.

Authorities have not publicly identified the suspect by name due to a Virginia law that protects the identities of minors accused of crimes.
The shooting occurred around 4 p.m. on Sunday in the 8800 block of Lane Scott Court in Manassas, authorities said. As officers investigated the shooting, they found several cartridge casings. Officers then found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the police report.

First responders took the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
During their investigation, authorities identified the suspect as a 15-year-old boy. He was arrested without incident, authorities said. Investigators also executed a search warrant and found a firearm.
"Detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident and not a random act," the police department said in a report.
