GAINESVILLE, VA — Authorities seized thousands of dollars worth of drugs during an arrest in Gainesville on Friday. Virginia State Police officials said the arrest was the culmination of a 2-month investigation.

Police officers arrested 56-year-old Reginald Morgan of Maryland in connection with the investigation. He is charged with one felony count of distribution of Schedule I/II drug (3rd or subsequent offense) and one felony count of transporting Schedule I/II drug into the Commonwealth with the intent to sell or distribute.

Morgan is being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center. If convicted of all charges, Morgan could spend the rest of his life in prison, based on Virginia's sentenicing guidelines.

Investigators from the Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force found Morgan in the 14400 block of Lee Highway in Gainesville on Friday. During the arrest, police officers found 2.5 ounces of powder cocaine and 4.5 ounces of crack cocaine. Police officials estimated that the drugs were worth $17,500.

"Through the course of the investigation, Morgan had been identified as a significant supplier of cocaine to the Culpeper area," Virginia State Police officials said in a news release.
