2 Trains Hit Vehicle Stuck On Tracks In Fauquier County: Police
Injuries are reported after two trains, including an Amtrak train, hit a vehicle stuck on railroad tracks in Fauquier County, officials say.
FAUQUIER COUNTY, VA — Injuries were reported after two trains, including an Amtrak train, hit a vehicle stuck on railroad tracks in Fauquier County Sunday night, officials say. Virginia State Police say the crash occurred at 7:50 p.m. on Bealeton Road near the intersection of Collins Lane.
A 2008 Honda Civic was crossing railroad tracks when it became stuck on the tracks with two trains approaching from opposite directions. The Honda's 18-year-old driver, from Buckingham County, and three passengers got out of the vehicle before both trains hit the car.
One of the trains, an Amtrak train, reported injuries among its passengers. The Honda driver and passengers were not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
