4-Year-Old Found Alone At Night In Manassas: Police

A child was found unattended after a neighbor contacted police. The father was found sleeping outside nearby.

MANASSAS, VA — A father was charged with child neglect after a child was found alone in the Manassas area of Prince William County Monday night.

Police had responded around 11:34 p.m. Monday to the 7400 block of Barbados Lane. A neighbor had called police due to a 4-year-old child potentially left alone at a residence. Officers found the child at the front door and did not find a guardian inside. The child was not injured.

A search of the area revealed the father was sleeping under a tree in an adjacent row of homes nearby, police say. Bryan Andrew Taylor, 34, was arrested and charged with felony child neglect, obstruction of justice, and public intoxication. He was held on a $5,000 secured bond. A court date is pending.
