$7.5M Mega Millions Jackpot Winner From Bristow
Kevin Young bought the winning ticket worth last summer at Gainesville 7-Eleven, but did financial planning before cashing it Monday.

BRISTOW, VA — A retired engineer found out last summer he suddenly had come into a large amount of money. Ever prudent, he met with financial experts to figure out how best to manage it.
Three months later, armed with such knowledge, he went to a 7-Eleven in Gainesville — and not for a Slurpee.
Instead, he went to the store Monday at 7489 Limestone Drive in Gainesville to cash in his winning Mega Millions lottery ticket worth $7.5 million.

Kevin Young was one of two winners in the July 22 drawing, the other ticket was purchased in Georgia. Instead of taking the full $7.5 million over 30 years, he took the one-time cash option of $5,140,507 before taxes.
"Kind of surreal," Young told a Virginia Lottery representative.

The 7-Eleven picked up a $50,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, Virginia's ninth Mega Millions jackpot win.
For the record, Young's winning numbers were 8-24-25-26-30, and the Mega Ball number was 7.
According to Virginia Lottery, the odds of matching all six numbers are 1 in 258.9 million.
