9-Year-Old Boy Killed, Centreville Man Charged In Pedestrian Accident

A driver was charged with a third offense of driving without a license in a crash that killed a 9-year-old boy

MANASSAS, VA — A 9-year-old Manassas boy was killed Monday night in the area of Centreville Road and Leland Road as he ran across the street, authorities said. The driver who struck him has been charged with driving without a license.

According to Prince William County police, the boy ran into the road and was struck by a 2012 Honda Civic driven by Jacinto Josue Ezequiel Jacinto Morales, 30, of Centreville. Morales stayed at the scene after the accident and bystanders performed CPR on the child until he could be taken to the hospital.

The child later died of his injuries, a police news release said. Authorities did not release the name of the boy.

Morales has been charged with driving without a license, the third time he has faced such a charge. Penalties for driving without a license can increase with each incident. He was not taken into custody.
