American Flag Set Ablaze in Back of Truck Near Manassas: Fire Marshal

Two men set the fire and then watched a pickup become engulfed, according to the Prince William County Fire Marshal

MANASSAS, VA — So last Thursday night, two guys had a bright idea in the 7700 block of Sudley Road, according to Prince William County Fire Marshal.

Let's set an American flag on fire. Right here in the back of this Toyota Tundra pickup.

And so they did. And the fire spread, causing an estimated $500 damage to the vehicle.

Bhavani Moddipoti of Chantilly and Robert McFadden were charged with destruction of property by fire greater than $200 and mutilate/deface of a flag.

The deal went down a little after 9 p.m., and fire crews quickly extinguished the fire.
