According to the department, county officials began receiving noise complaints and reports of gunshots in the area of the party at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Arriving at 11770 Bowery Lane, deputies found a group of people attending a quinceañera event, a 15-year-old girl's birthday party, at the Rancho El Alazan events center.

The department says deputies there learned the gunshots were coming from another location. However, before leaving the property, deputies saw an altercation involving several people and heard a gunshot. They found Ojeda with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made, according to the department.

According to the Prince William Times, around 100 to 150 people were at the party when the shooting happened, and only two deputies responded to the initial reports. The area where the fatal altercation occurred was dark and deputies had to make their way there after hearing the shots.

Law enforcement officers from Stafford and Prince William Counties arrived to help, along with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. According to the Prince William Times, Fauquier authorities say they didn't call ICE, but that the agency might have been alerted to the incident as Fauquier authorities were attempting to search for active warrants for party attendees.

Fauquier County authorities say they are confident they will find the shooter.
