Police Arrest Man Wanted In Rape, Abduction Of Woman In Manassas (patch.com) — Police say a man has been arrested in connection with a reported rape and abduction of a woman in a wooded area off Sudley Road in Manassas. The victim, who knew the suspect, was able to escape and reach authorities, and detectives have obtained multiple felony warrants as the investigation continues.
2. Police: 'Highly intoxicated' teacher arrested at Manassas Park High School (insidenova.com) — A Manassas Park High School teacher was arrested Thursday morning after a school resource officer determined she was highly intoxicated on campus, though officials stress no students were ever in danger. Manassas Park City Schools say the staff member was immediately isolated, police were called, and the employee is now on administrative leave under the division's zero-tolerance policy for alcohol on school grounds.
3. 3 Prince William Co. Men Among 9 Arrested In Undercover Child Exploitation Sting (patch.com) — A Manassas resident was among nine men arrested in a Fairfax County undercover sting targeting people accused of arranging sexual encounters with minors online. Police detailed charges, bond status, and urged local parents to closely monitor children's internet use, enable safety settings, and talk frankly about the risks of communicating with strangers.
4. OHS Wind Symphony to perform in 'The President's Cup' festival (gmtoday.com) — Next April, the prestigious President's Cup Concert Band Festival will bring top high school ensembles from around the country to the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas. Visiting students will rehearse with elite clinicians and hear the U.S. Army Band perform, putting Manassas on a national stage for music education.
