Manassas Resident Wins Runner-Up Prize in National Apartments.com Roommate of the Year Contest

Apartments.com has named Manassas resident Jake Tomko as one of the runner-up winners in the fourth annual national Roommate of the Year contest. Tomko claims a $500 cash prize for his video entry entitled The Singing Roommate, which was entered in the All-Star Roomie category. Tomko’s video rose to the top among the finalists because of its originality and creativity, overall wow factor, persuasive argument and style and production.

“The  finalist videos in the fourth year of the contest were all creative and very well-produced, making the judging process the most difficult it has been in the history of this contest,” said Tammy Kotula, public relations and promotions manager for Apartments.com. “Each of the finalist videos were viewed thousands of times and garnered significant support during the public voting stage. It was a heated competition to be sure!”

Tomko, a resident of Manassas, VA and recent graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, set his life to a soundtrack and distinguished his video from the competition. From waking up his roommate with a gentle tune to lending a helping voice during a date gone wrong, Jake’s roommate skill of music makes everything ok.
