Assault, Abduction at Manassas Hotel Leads to Arrest: Police

A Manassas man was charged with abduction and assault after an altercation with a woman at a Manassas hotel on Sunday morning, police said.

MANASSAS, VA — A man was arrested after an assault and abduction at a hotel in Manassas on Sunday night. The man, Marcus Larue Clark, was arrested at his home in Manassas.

At 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, a 40-year-old woman called the police to report an assault. Officers arrived at Residence Inn on Williamson Boulevard in Manassas to investigate, according to a news release from the Prince William County Police Department.

The woman told police that she had argued with a man in a hotel room. During the argument, the man threw her onto a bed and held her down, according to authorities.

At one point, the woman was able to escape his grasp, and she tried to leave the room. After she opened the door, the man grabbed her, forced her back into the room, and shut the door, police said.

Eventually, the woman escaped the room and told hotel employees about the situation. The hotel staff members called the police. The man fled before police could arrive, according to the report published by the police department.

The woman did not report any injuries to police.

Police officers identified the man as Clark, and located him at his home. He was arrested without any further incident, police said.

Clark is charged with abduction and one count of assault and battery. He is being held without bond, and his court date is scheduled for May 12, 2021.
