Becoming Your Change

In order to create a change in your life, you need to understand the deeper reasons why.

Life is all about change — the weather, our relationships, our preferences are all constantly changing. Some changes we do not have control over, so we evolve, grow and adapt as we go. But what about those changes that we can control? We have the ability to consciously change.

Change occurs when we know the why, set the time and create a plan to become the change we are seeking. For this to all come together into the perfect culmination, we need to go deeper into ourselves. Here’s how to start.

Annoyance

In the wellness plan I develop for every client, we always begin with annoyance. Sounds like a terrible place to start — being annoyed — doesn’t it? It’s actually the perfect spot. Stop and think about who, what or where is annoying you? What has brought you to the place of needing to make a change? Really think about that annoyance and why it’s become a thorn in your side. Make a list of the reasons it’s bothersome.

Awareness

Once you’ve found the annoyance, it’s time to focus on awareness and do some self-exploration. Become acutely aware of yourself and the reactions you have to these issues. Don’t judge; just soak in your awareness of who you are right in the moment. It’s perfect.

Acknowledgement

Next we move into acknowledgement — acknowledgement that you are wonderful and have all you need for wellness already within you. Acknowledge that the change you’re seeking can only come from within you, and muster up the passion you have to change. Remind yourself that you can change no one else. You have to be your own change.

Accountability

Accountability begins the process of change. It begins by being accountable to yourself, being encouraged by a wellness coach and finally living abundantly in life as these new changes become practices of living well. They become you or you become them — whole!
