Bomb Threat Empties Manassas Mall Friday

A bomb threat emptied the Manassas Mall for hours on Friday as law enforcement searched the large mall. The “all clear” was finally given in the afternoon.

The public was asked to avoid the mall area at this time until the all clear is given.

Stonewall Jackson High, Ellis Elementary, and New Directions Alternative Center implemented “Secure the Building” status. The campus is located behind the mall.

Law enforcement across the country are on high alert after 14 were killed and 21 injured during a holiday part in California earlier this week.

That terrorist attack also included a remote-controlled bomb that did not detonate, according to authorities.
