This Week at the Market

Peaches will be at the market this week, with tomatoes coming soon. And join us for barbecue and Argentinian specialties as well.

We may be moving soon. Our supporters at the campus are looking for the best location for us to attract not only students but our great friends from the business park and hopefully our new friends who will be bringing their children to the Fitness Center for summer activities. So watch this space for relocation updates.

And watch our market for the first signs of summer — with peaches arriving this week and tomatoes coming very soon. Wait till you bite into your first Tyson Farms peach. My first bite took me back to South Georgia — Peach Country — where I lived for a while as a child. I couldn’t believe I had to come back to Virginia — or West Virginia — to find a peach that good again. And it wasn’t even fuzzy! I remember too having to wipe that fuzz off with your shirt before you could really enjoy it.

Uncle Fred and Ma Chef will be at this week’s market in force — meaning with many options for your dining pleasure. And pretty soon you will be able to make a salad on your own from market produce. More on that later.
