Now where was I? Last week it hardly felt like we had been away. We saw so many old faces and many new ones, too. And except for our great new vendors we looked pretty much the same. We thank all of you who made us feel appreciated once again. Our Bristow shoppers have always been eager to let us know we are welcome in the community and we felt it again big time last week.

New Vendors This Week

You might know about Cows-n-Corn from school field trips or the autumn festival at their farm, but now you can enjoy their ice cream at the market and take it home, too. They will join us for the first time this Sunday, and they plan to come every week unless things get too busy for them in the fall.

On the Way In and Out

Everything you need for your fabulous 4th of July is now in the market, just in time for those summer sides. Little Green Farm and Montoyas’s Produce have tomatoes, sweet corn, beans, squashes, eggplant, and peppers and are set up at either end of the market. Mike Burner is bringing his sustainable produce, including potatoes that make the best Green Grocer Potato Salad I have ever made. Which reminds me that we will have many new recipes at the Smart Markets tent to help you put that produce to work for your taste buds and your better health.

Bon Vivant is the place to shop for meats for your own grill, including some great sausages made for Bon Vivant by sausage guru Stan Feder from the free-range, drug-free meats that their farmers raise. Jawad will share with you the food news about his farmers’ products – just ask him. He is also bringing artisanal cheeses and other products from Shenandoah Valley farms.

We also expect to see Pablo back this week, fit as ever, with lots of those Great Harvest breads, dog treats, granola, and other good stuff.

It will take us a few weeks to settle into our new space, but once we do, we’ll bring you music, nutritional advice, cooking demos, and other opportunities to spend some time at the market dining, dancing, and meeting old and new friends.
