This week we’re launching our campaign to be voted one of the country’s favorite farmers’ markets in an annual contest held by American Farmland Trust. Come celebrate with us, then vote for us and help carry us to victory!

You can vote now — just go to the American Farmland Trust website and type “Smart Markets Bristow” where it says “Cast Your Vote.”

This Sunday we will launch the contest by giving out free “Virginia Grown” reusable shopping bags and “No Farms, No Food” bumper stickers until we run out.

On August 19th, we will celebrate Julia Child’s birthday with a cooking demo and sampling around the market of some of her favorite dishes made with market ingredients.

And on the 26th, we will celebrate Cows and Corn with the introduction of Trickling Springs dairy products at our market, and several of our vendors will have special products using the season’s sweet corn. Look for sweet corn ice cream at Cows-N-Corn, roasted corn pizzas from Divine Wood-Fired Pizza, Old Bay Kettle Korn at Heritage Farm and Kitchen, and maybe even some corn kimchi at Number One Sons.
