Dark, unsettling, and endlessly thought-provoking, No Exit is one of the most famous works of existential drama ever written. First performed in 1944, Jean-Paul Sartre’s groundbreaking play confronts audiences with urgent questions about identity, responsibility, and the ways we define ourselves through others.
The play takes place in a stark, windowless room in the afterlife, where three strangers—Garcin, Inès, and Estelle—are brought together with no mirrors, no escape, and no explanation of their punishment. As they wait for the expected physical tortures of hell to begin, they instead find themselves trapped in an eternal psychological standoff. With nothing to do but talk, observe, and judge one another, their past actions and deepest insecurities are slowly revealed.
As the characters attempt to justify their lives and seek validation, it becomes clear that each is both victim and tormentor. Sartre’s famously chilling conclusion—that “hell is other people”—emerges not as a casual provocation, but as a devastating insight into how self-deception, dependency, and the need for approval can become forms of punishment. The characters are condemned to see themselves reflected endlessly in the eyes of others, with no possibility of escape or redemption.
No Exit is a defining expression of Sartre’s existential philosophy, dramatizing the idea that individuals are responsible for who they are, and that avoidance of that responsibility leads to anguish and entrapment. The play explores themes of freedom, choice, guilt, and bad faith, challenging audiences to consider how much of their identity is shaped—or distorted—by the perceptions of others.

The George M. Hampton Foundation is proudly presenting this year's Gene Montague Memorial 5K. The fun run/walk will be from 8:30 am - 10:30 am at Occoquan Park in Lorton. Funds raised will go toward the Foundation's scholarships for local high school seniors, support of mentoring programs (Omega U) and for fundraising support to health initiatives, such as the American Diabetes Association's Step Out. Registration is $45 up to August 29th and a race shirt is included. Registrations after August 29th are $50 and a race shirt IS NOT guaranteed. The Winery at Sunshine Ridge Farm

The Bristow-based Uncle Drew and the Scoundrels is back again with their latest album Where Ya Wanna Go: The Road Trip Album, dropping on September 11, 2026. 

Fans are invited to join Uncle Drew and the Scoundrels on September 12 as they celebrate the release of this new Americana album with an evening of live music, stories behind the songs, and the community that has supported this journey from the very beginning. The event will take place at The Winery at Sunshine Ridge on Lake Manassas.

The album features original songs including “Seconds” which just spent its 42nd week on the Independent Artist Chart in the United Kingdom. Where Ya Wanna Go: The Road Trip Album was produced by Eddie Kilgallon (Ricochet, Montgomery Gentry) and recorded at both Beard Music Group and GEM Music Group in Nashville, Tennessee. The album features Nashville legends Eddie K on keyboards and vocals, Johnny Garcia on guitar, Michael Lusk on bass, and William Ellison on drums and percussion. Kilgallon, Lusk, and Ellison are perhaps best known for their work with Montgomery Gentry while Garcia plays lead guitar for both Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood.&nbsp;

The album release event will include exclusive first listens to tracks from the new album. Uncle Drew and the Scoundrels will also have a few surprises up their sleeves - you won’t want to miss it!
