BRUU Responds to Incident near Building
MANASSAS, VA. We are saddened by the event outside our building on Church Street last night.
We make our facility available for public use, including support groups, public meetings, and private events.
Last night, our rental monitor for a private party called 911 immediately after hearing a shot. We are grateful that the Manassas police responded quickly.
The Bull Run Unitarian Universalists are committed to building community. We have a diverse membership, many with different perspectives, but none of us consider this sort of violence to be a solution to disagreements.
We have invited others to use our space since we moved into our building 26 years ago. This is the first time we have experienced such violence.
We recognize that there are challenges to address in our local community and society at large. BRUU will continue to be part of the path to peaceful solutions to differences.
