Celebrate Summer Solstice In Manassas With These Events

MANASSAS, VA — We’ve been enjoying summertime events in Manassas since before the start of meteorological summer on June 1, but the season officially gets underway Thursday, June 20, with the summer solstice.

The City of Manassas Parks, Culture and Recreation will celebrate its second annual Parks Day on Thursday. Attendees can pick up a Play All Day passport and get it stamped at each location to get a free ice cream at Winterset Park.

Summer solstice events in our area include:

• Farmers Market with take-home craft and Play All Day Passport, June 20, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Historic Manassas Visitor Center fun and free giveaways, June 20, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• ARTfactory free admission and explore summer camps and upcoming shows, June 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Manassas Museum free admission, discover history, June 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Manassas City Library, June 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Stonewall Park Pool, discounted admission and free giveaways, June 20, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Boys & Girls Club summer fun and free giveaways, June 20, 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Annaburg, sneak peak at the city's newest park, June 20, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Winterset Park, share ideas with city planners on how to improve Winterset Park and get free ice cream, June 20, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Summer Solstice Bubblepalooza at Haymarket Gainesville Library: June 20, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
