Prince William Realtors Donate 62 Coats To Preschool Children In Need This Winter

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A record 62 coats were collected by the Realtor Association of Prince William during their 2021 Coats for Kids Drive, the association announced on Friday. The coats will be donated to help keep children in need warm this winter.

April Thomas is the CEO of the Realtor Association of Prince William. "Working with the Prince William County Preschool Program made it easy for Realtors to help make a difference in the community by spreading some much-needed warmth," she said in a news release. "Our goal was to collect 25 coats, and we surpassed it."

The Prince William County Preschool Program works to offer free programs for students in need thanks to grants from the federal government and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Students in the program receive the benefits of the USDA food program and other supplemental education activities.

"The Prince William Preschool Program is committed to provide students with the tools and opportunities to build a more stable future through a comprehensive education program,” said Muriel D. Tapia, who works with the Prince William Public School Preschool Program. "The community support demonstrated through the Realtor Association of Prince William Coat Drive has been an important partner to help us provide coats for as many of our students as possible and our preschool family is incredibly thankful for their partnership."
