Crashes On VA-7 And I-66 + Metro Issues: AM Traffic In DC, NoVA

Good morning, Northern Virginia. Here's everything you need to know for your Tuesday morning commute.

On the Roads

At 7:28 a.m., there was a crash on the left side of eastbound I-66 near Sudley Road.

At 7:24 a.m., there was a disabled vehicle on northbound I-95 on the left side after VA-619/Triangle.

At 7:23 a.m., all traffic was blocked by police activity at Benning Road NE between 44th Street NE and East Capitol Street.

At 7:04 a.m., a crash impacted both directions of VA-7 at Forestville Drive. Drivers should follow police direction.

At 7:01 a.m., an event blocked traffic in both directions a 1st Street SE between N Street SE and Potomac Avenue SE.

At 6:20 a.m., there was debris on the right side of the roadway on eastbound I-66 near VA-234 Prince William Parkway and Sudley Road.

Throughout the morning, a work zone blocked all lanes of traffic on eastbound Little River Turnpike between Beauregard Street and I-395. Drivers should follow the posted detour.

On the Metro

On Tuesday morning, Orange Line trains were only operating between Vienna and Ballston due to a switch problem outside Stadium Armory. Riders can use the Silver Line to continue their trip.

At 7:35 a.m., buses were experiencing delays on Southern Avenue at Reed Terrace SE due to police activity.

On the Orange Line, the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton remain closed through Labor Day due to a summer platform improvement project. Local and express shuttles are available at Stadium-Armory.

Weather

Tuesday will be hot and humid throughout the region with temperatures reaching upwards of 95 degrees and heat indices passing 100. There's a chance of thunderstorms in some spots overnight.
